From our observation, Web.com has only one hosting package with different options and this makes it limited and not appealing to some businesses. You cannot upgrade to higher levels when business grows.
The pricing is on the higher side and some of their features are only available at an extra cost.
There are many customer complaints about hidden fees, customer service, technical support, overcharging and a host of other issues. Although they advertise for website design services, the websites are below average and not professionally-looking. This is quite disappointing for clients who pay extra charges to have their websites. The agents at web.com that do the website design seem to rush over it and this makes it not worth the price they charge. Customers are therefore not content with the websites created and they say they look like templates and not customized designs.
The staff members don’t seem to synchronize their work so there is no co-ordination when serving the customer. One person says this and the other says that. The tech support respond but they are not helpful. They are unable to solve the problems leaving customers frustrated. Their billing system is quite confusing. They change the amounts and the billing dates.
BEWARE. Avoid them.
Beware of this web hosting company. I had the worst experience ever and I would advise you to read the reviews first before committing yourself. I have been trying to cancel my contract with webseveral times without success. At first it was difficult because they do not provide the phone number to use during cancellation. Every time I have tried to cancel they have been charging my credit card without authorization. This is the worst hosting company I have ever dealt with so far. When I call and inform them that I want to cancel the service they keep me on hold for over 30 minutes and then hang the phone. They ignored me and there was even a time they kept me waiting for almost 1 hour and to make things worse they disconnected the phone without solving the problem. I was very frustrated.
BEWARE. Cancelling web service is a nightmare. They give you the hardest time when you inform them that you want to quit. They should improve their service and stop billing customers unnecessarily if they don’t want them to leave.
Most web hosts provide the number you can call on the cancellation page and they set out the terms clearly when you want to cancel the contract. Not everyone is satisfied with services provided so there should be room for those who want to leave. UPTIME Good but have hidden charges.
I have set up 4 sites with Web using their site builder and what I like most about them is the uptime. They are not perfect but they are reliable on average and I have not had uptime problems when running the sites except what I would experience elsewhere.
The only problem I have been having with them is that they charge my credit card several times without permission and without giving me notice. In one month they charged my account $94.95 twice and added other hidden charges of $6.9 without sending me a notice. Every time I try to stop the deductions they charge more for no reason.
Following the issue with Web has not been successful so I had to instruct my credit card company to stop these extra charges on my credit cards. This is the worst company I have ever worked with. They Misled Me
I bought Web package because I was misled into believing that the e-Commerce features were included in the package. The sales rep I talked to told me that the package included an e-Commerce site. When I signed up I tried to set-up the website but it was not included. I was told that I had to pay extra charges for e-Commerce features which I was not aware of. They did not say this when I was buying the package because I would have hesitated. They have only one hosting package for all and pricing is high when you add the extra fee for the features.
