GreenGeeks, a green web hosting company has made a name by winning numerous Awards. The company is one of the pioneers who launched green server technology and has been growing since its launch. GreenGeeks uses wind-power to host the websites conserving the environment by using renewable energy. The company produces 3 times the wind energy it is currently using on websites, selling the extra energy to the grid. This earns you as an account holder more income due to the savings in prices as you contribute towards preserving the planet.
Server banks produce a lot of pollution and GreenGeeks concern about the environment and the community is encouraging. The eco-friendly hosting company charges competitive prices starting at $4.95 a month for a huge host of features. It is recommended for offering cheap shared hosting at affordable rates. Conserving the planet is everyone’s responsibility and when you host your website or blog using green technology, you are preserving the environment. Their control panels which come with every account are easy to use and this helps users manage their websites. They provide automated scripts and solutions which include Fantastico, e-commerce solutions, shopping carts, management systems and forums among other solutions.
GreenGeeks seem to have started well with high customer satisfaction but were unable to sustain their reputation due to some customer complaints.
Free "Domain Name for Life"
"The Domain Name for Life" is a gimmick. Customers complain that the company does not provide you with the domain account information. This means that, when you fail to renew with them and you need your premium domain name to be transferred to another web host, the company charges you a hefty amount of money. If you fail to pay this amount, you lose your domain name.
The servers go down frequently delaying incoming emails and this result in loss of potential business. The websites go offline and customers have to keep calling customer support to fix things up. The servers have limited memory which is only good for those with small files. Wordpress blogs with large memory requirements stop working.
Customer Support Complaints
Their customer support reps are aware of these memory issues of their servers but have not been able to resolve them and customers with large files and e-commerce websites prefer subscribing with other web hosts who are more efficient even if it means paying more. GreenGeeks hosting is not good for customers who have large websites and those who use php etc.
I was attracted to GreenGeeks by their ‘’Domain for Life’’ which I thought was one o the best offers. When I thought it was the right time to move to another web host I was surprised by what happened next. I needed the domain name to be transferred to the other web host. They did not provide me with the domain account information. I was told to pay some extra amount. When you fail to renew your account with them and you need your domain name to be transferred, they charge you a large sum of money. If you fail to pay this amount then you lose your domain name. Imagine that. You build your business on your domain name and then you lose it just like that.

Their servers have limited memory which makes this hosting company only good for those with smaller files. My Wordpress blogs which have large memory requirements stop working. GreenGeeks customer support reps are friendly but they seem like these problems are beyond them.
They are aware of these memory issues of their servers but have not been able to resolve them and customers with large data files and e-commerce websites prefer subscribing with other web hosts who are more efficient even if it means paying more. I do not recommend Green Geeks hosting for customers who have large web pages and those who use PHP.posted by Jordan Saturday, 23 February 2013 06:34 Comment Link
I am pleased with the way GreenGeeks provides several phone numbers on their website and also their email addresses. Other websites do not offer this which means that this company s dedicated to customer satisfaction making it easy for their customers to contact them. Some people prefer live chat so that they can keep copies and click on the links. The staff members are helpful and they respond quickly when I contact them.
I am happy with the technical support and I was served promptly and efficiently. The technicians are friendly, patient and very responsive irrespective of how many questions you ask them. All what I can say is that when I contacted them on live chat the support reps fixed the problems within no time and I did not have to wait. Their customer service is amazing and I like the way they treat you in a friendly manner.posted by Zachary Friday, 11 January 2013 11:42 Comment Link
I signed up with GreenGeeks 3 years ago and I am impressed with their services for the price I pay. Their uptime is impressive having moved from other unreliable hosts in the past. Their control panel is easy for me to use and this helps me when I am managing my websites. We used the in-built site builder for our e-commerce websites and for creating the shopping carts. GreenGeeks are amazing and I am pleased with their reliable service and the customer support. I am happy that they use eco-friendly wind energy. Their hosting service is awesome and their servers are fast
