FatCow is a well-recognized hosting provider that has been in the market since the 90s. The company is respected for providing efficient and affordable services which are also reliable making it one of the best web hosts, today. FatCow has a reputation based on the company’s simplicity and easy to use features. There are pros and cons of some of these service providers and it is good to know what other customers have to say about their services before making a choice.

Price

There have been numerous complaints about FatCow hiking their prices after the first year. Some people were lured to FatCow due to the low prices they offer, but after signing up with them, they charge extra fees for their services which the customer was not aware of initially. This is quite disappointing because the customer may have been attracted by the low prices.

Solutions are sold at additional fees costing more in the long-run than expected. You cannot renew the account manually and when they renew the account automatically, they charge you much higher 2-3 times the original price. They even charge your account before the first year lapses. When you cancel they charge extra charges which you had paid for originally, during sign-up and worse still, fail to refund your money or they delay the refunds giving excuses when you contact them.

Customer Service

Customer service is good with some clients saying they were impressed by their response initially. However, there are many customers who keep contacting them due to the change in prices and the extra charges which are not attended to. Response is slow keeping you on hold for too long or the customer support fails to respond.

Sales Department

There are complaints about hidden charges. Refunds take too long and they charge high cancellation fees and this is not clearly stated during sign-in.

Technical Support

FatCow tech support is responsive in some issues but slow in setting up hosting. Resolving problems takes too long and some customers have to cancel the services. This complicates things further because refunds take longer than the time expected. They have even cancelled earlier than the due date for some clients. FatCow may be good for beginners who do not have a lot of traffic to their websites. Once traffic increases servers slow down or there is unnecessary downtime when the sites are offline completely or they take too long to load due to overloaded servers. They should resolve downtime issues promptly.

Some customers have complained that FatCow deletes their websites or blogs with no backups. The information is lost and there is no recovery. When you ask for backups they say they are not available. This is very disappointing because you can lose a lot of data which has accumulated for many years.

    We subscribed with FatCow because of their reasonable prices. Unfortunately FatCow has been deleting our websites and blocking our emails. There is a time our blogs just disappeared without explanation and to make it worse they have no backup services. All or part of the information is lost and there is no recovery. When you ask the tech support for backups they say they are not available. I am very disappointed because I lost a lot of data which I had accumulated for many years. If you know you have large files look elsewhere but if your site requires minimal bandwidth and disk space FatCow is OK.

    FatCow is among the best Web hosting providers I know. Before signing up with them I tried several other web hosts but I prefer them instead of the others. The only problem is that they advertise a low price for shared hosting services but after the first year they increase the price which is discouraging. The low price is available during the introductory price after the customer sign-up. After the first year the price varies to higher amounts so you should be aware of that. I have technical issues which I need to be sorted out but FatCow tech support hold times are long.

    When I joined FatCow, I was looking for e -Commerce hosting solutions that would provide me with tools to enable me to build and manage a storefront. I was able to do this and now I showcase my products online. I have a shopping cart which is fully functional and I am happy about it. I was able to install a functional payment system which supports third-party payment systems. My customers are now able to pay using the PayPal, credit cards and debit cards among other payment systems. My site has been performing satisfactorily and I am fine with FatCow.

    I am so disappointed by FatCow because of hiking their prices after the first year. I was attracted to FatCow by the low prices but after signing up, things were different. They waited until the introductory period was over then they charged me extra fees for their services which they had not stated initially. I was very disappointed because I was not aware of this originally. What I can say about them is that they are keen on attracting new customers instead of serving their existing customers who make the company what it is. Find out about their prices after the first year so you will not be surprised.

    I am a customer of FatCow and I can say that the best e-Commerce hosting provider I was looking for had to guarantee uptime and reliability for business to flow smoothly. FatCow proved this and they also have a 24/7 efficient and competent Moo Crew technical support to resolve problems which arise. The team members act promptly and unless the problem is beyond them they usually do their best. I was concerned that if there is no responsiveness and issues are not resolved fast l would lose customers and online business. Issues are to be dealt with immediately they arise and so far I am pleased with their services. Thanks FatCow.

    My site has been down several times this week and work cannot continue like this. FatCow are just interested in attracting customers instead of improving service. But apart from this I am happy with the prices they charge because it is affordable. I started a small e-Commerce business and the solutions they provide. The solutions come with SSL certificates for enhanced security. SEO is very important for our online business to be visible to the online traffic. We have worked so hard on our business but if outages continue like this they will throw us off balance.

    I bought FatCow packages and used the Web site-builder to create a customized website using the templates provided. The Web site-builder software was all that I needed to set up my store successfully. I was able to integrate the shopping carts, e-mail management, inventory control systems, customer relationship management CRM systems, credit card payments and PayPal. My site is running as I had expected and I am pleased with FatCow especially their prices.
    I can recommend them to others.

    FatCow customer service is good and I can say that I was impressed by their response initially. However, I had to keep on contacting them due to the change in prices and the extra charges and this becomes a long story. When they know you have a problem they keep you waiting and most times you are not attended to. Response is slow keeping you on hold for even an hour or longer or the customer support fails to respond to your calls especially if they know it is about hidden charges. Refunds take too long and they charge high cancellation fees. This is not clearly stated during sign-up.
    Not recommended.
